How do I renew my 5 year TIE in Mallorca

To renew your TIE (Tarjeta de Identidad de Extranjero) in Mallorca, Spain, follow these steps:

 1. Make an appointment (cita previa) online through: https://sede.administracionespublicas.gob.es/ 2. Gather required documents: - EX-23 form (completed and signed) - - also take EX-17 form - they are both short to fill in - one of them will be required. Valid passport and copies - Current TIE card - Passport-size photos - Proof of payment of fees (Model 790, Code 012) - When completing the modelo 790, select the option 'Certificado de registro de residente comunitario o Tarjeta de residencia de familiar de un ciudadano de la Unión' under the heading 'Tarjetas de identidad de extranjeros (TIE) y certificados de registro de residentes comunitarios'  Proof of sufficient financial means - Proof of health insurance - Padron certificate (less than 3 months old) - Any additional documents specific to your situation 3. Visit the Foreign Office (Oficina de Extranjería) in Palma de Mallorca at your appointed time: C/ Ciudad de Querétaro s/n Polígono de Levante 07007 Palma de Mallorca Important notes: - Start the renewal process within 60 days before your current TIE expires - The process can also be done online through: https://sede.administracionespublicas.gob.es/ - Consider using a gestor (administrative assistant) if you need help - Requirements may vary, so it's advisable to check with the office or consult their website for the most current information

There is a cafe which is part of a charity on the same road as the police station which has a photo machine and does photocopies.
Take photocopies of all the pages in your passport even the blank ones. This should not be necessary but sometimes is asked for.
 If you were resident in Spain before BREXIT that time is added to the 5 years you need to become permanent in Spain. - i.e. you can apply for permanent status prior to 5 years in this case and avoid the inevitable rush. In this case you must bring proof that you 5 years was up in earlier and not at the expiry date of my TIE card - for example of the green residency card that I was issued at an earlier point.
