How to renew TIE card once it has expired in Mallorca
To renew your TIE (Tarjeta de Identidad de Extranjero) card in Mallorca, Spain, follow these steps:
1. Timing:
- You can apply for renewal within 60 days before expiration
- You also have 90 days after expiration to renew (but try to avoid this)
2. Required Documents:
- EX-17 ( ( click here to download ) form (completed and signed)
- Original passport and copy
- Expired TIE card and copy
- Padrón certificate (less than 3 months old)
- Recent passport-size photos
- Proof of payment of the renewal fee (using form 790, code 012)
- Documents proving you still meet the requirements of your initial residence permit (work contract, bank statements, etc.)
3. Process:
a) Book an appointment (cita previa) ( We can help with that ) online at:
https://sede.administracionespublicas.gob.es/
Select "Trámites Cuerpo Nacional de Policía"
b) Go to the Immigration Office (Oficina de Extranjería) in Palma:

07007 Palma de Mallorca
4. After approval:
- You'll receive a receipt
- Book another appointment to collect your new TIE
- Bring your passport and old TIE when collecting
